Submitting your entries

Please note that in light of Covid-19 and the resulting lockdown and school closure the means of entering the competition have changed. Please read the following instructions carefully.

Format of entries

Entries can be in any medium at all, from painting to pastels, sculpture to photograpy, textiles or anything else you can think of.

2D entries should be submitted unmounted on A4 or A3 paper. You should send us a colour digital photograph via email, sharepoint or We Transfer.

3D entries can be any size. Do not send us the original creation. Instead send a digital colour photograph via email, sharepoint or We Transfer.

Closing date

We should receive entries by 5pm on Friday 19th June 2020.

Labelling your entries

It is vital that you attach all the information we require to each of your entries. Entries that are not properly labelled may not be accepted.

Each photograph should include only one entry and be titled with the name of the entrant and the category entered.

In addition, a document should be submitted that lists the following information for each of the entries submitted:

  • category entered: A – Nursery, B – P1 to P3, C – P4 to P5, D – P6 to P7, E – S1 to S3, or F – Additional Support
  • object that the artwork is in response to
  • pupil’s name
  • class and age
  • name of teacher / school contact OR home address and contact email if submitted directly from home
  • school name, address, email and telephone number

This information should be attaced to physical entries as a printed label.


Getting your entries to us

Digital entries

It is preferable that your entries are sent to us digitally.

They can be submitted by email, sharepoint or We Transfer via

Dropping them off in person

This year it will not be possible to drop off entries in person.

Posting your entries

Please note that Museums staff are working from home and will not be able to acknowledge receipt of posted entries. It is preferable to submit entries digitally.

Getting your entries back

Posted entries will be returned to schools. You can either collect them from the museum or arrange for them to be posted back to you.

Collecting entries

Entries can be collected from the Wardlaw Museum. Dates for this option wil be confirmed in due course.

Having your entries posted back

If you wish your entries to be posted back to you please include a self addressed envelope with the correct postage when you submit your work.
